BACKGROUND: These nasty plants are often seen on islands, but seem to grow wherever there's plenty of heat. Their putrid breath can poison anything that smells it as well as some things that don't. Putrid Piranha's appearance seems to vary from place to place, though it's been confirmed that these are all part of the same species, just with a different coloration.

EVOLUTION: In Paper Mario, they looked like regular Piranha Plants only with different expressions and fewer teeth. Later appearances had them look more like recolored versions of the biting plant.
