BACKGROUND: The Gringill have been found in a variety of colors inhabiting small underwater caverns throughout the new planets discovered when Mario rocketed into space to save Princess Peach. Their sleek eel bodies and habit of perching in rock faces and nipping at the Mario Bros. is quite reminiscent of the Unagi in the Mushroom Kingdom. Perhaps they are some sort of alien mutation of them!
