Technically called just "Donkey Kong" but called Donkey Kong '94 by many fans, this is sort of a remake of the original Donkey Kong. DK brought his son, Donkey Kong Jr., along for the ride as they kidnapped Pauline and tried to foil Mario.
This game was the first title designed for Super Game Boy, a device that let players play Game Boy games on Super NES. It also contributes to Mario's confusing origins when, at the end of the game, Mario, Pauline, DK and DK Jr. all wind up in the Mushroom Kingdom.
