BACKGROUND: Bob-omb Buddies help by opening cannons and telling you where the red coins are (on the touch screen). They looks like Bob-ombs, but they're pink.
EVOLUTION: Bob-omb Buddies appeared in most levels of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS where they were quite pink. They returned looking much shinier and a little more red in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
