BACKGROUND:
Flying Bloopers are a rare subspecies of the common squid monsters that infest many Mushroom World waters.
These creatures are dangerous but very rare. Whether Jumping Bloopers are really the same species as the flying types is debated amongst Mushroom Kingdom experts.
EVOLUTION:
In The Lost Levels Flying Bloopers look exactly the same as their underwater cousins - they are coloured pink in this version although they would have been white in the original Japanese Famicom game.
Experts dispute whether Jumping Bloopers are the same species or not. Unlike other species of Blooper, these ones have a squat, round body covered in yellow polka-dots and purple eyes.
