BACKGROUND: Shy Rangers were Shy Guys hired by Smithy to gain intel on Mario and his friends. Smithy stationed them within the Pipe Vault, as he knew that Mario was on good terms with Yoshis and would likely give Yo'ster Isle a visit. They normally run away at the first sign of danger, in order to avoid falling in battle and losing valuable information.
