Captain Syrup returns with her newly-renamed Black Sugar Pirates to reclaim all the treasure Wario stole from them.
Wario Land 2 became more of a puzzle game than the original Wario Land. Wario is indestructible, but monsters can transform him into all kinds of crazy things from a flattened pancake to a vampire to a zombie. Wario has to make use of the new abilities each of these forms has to beat the Black Sugar Pirates.
