BACKGROUND:
Wiggler is a large yellow caterpillar. His most noticeable feature is the little daisy he likes to wear on his head. If you see a Wiggler whose colouring is red, that means it is enraged, and it would be wise to avoid him.
Wigglers are wild and are generally friendly, although they will fight if attacked. They don't normally align themselves with anyone, but Bowser has ocassionally persuaded Wigglers to help him
out.
Wigglers are very fond of shiny objects, and it is sometimes possible to befriend them with glittery presents.
EVOLUTION:
Wigglers first appeared in Super Mario World. Back then they didn't have any mouths, just a huge nose. They appeared again in Super Mario RPG. These Wigglers were very close to the drawings, except that they only have six legs instead of eight. Most scientists agree that this was a one-generation mutation, as Wigglers were back
to eight legs in Super Mario 64. This most recent generation of Wigglers seems to have lost hte spots that previous ones had on their segmented bodies. It remains to be seen whether this is
temporary or not remains to be seen.
One other interesting note is the existance of Fuzzy Wigglers. These
creatures used to inhabit Yoshi's Island some years ago, around
the time of Yoshi's Story. There are arguments in the Mushroom Kingdom's scientific community
as to whether these are ancestors of the modern-day Wiggler,
or some cousin to it.
